I was born in Houston, Texas. I lived in small air force military towns as a child. In third grade, the air force base closed and my family moved to Bellaire, Texas, a small town surrounded by Houston. I graduated from Bellaire Senior High in 1980. I attended college (1980-1982, 2001-2005) and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Education (2005) from Sam Houston State University. After earning a degree in Education and a minor in Special Education, I then went on to earn my Masters in Reading and Literacy (2007) from Walden University. I currently hold certificates for Generalist ECE-4th grade , Reading and Language Arts 4th-8th, Ece-12th Special Education, ECE-4th ESL, ECE-12th English as a Second Language Supplemental.
This is my 21st year in education. I have taught 1 year as a Resource Teacher K-5th, 3 years as a Behavior Intervention Teacher 3rd-5th, 1 year as a Kindergarten Teacher, 3 years as a 5th grade Teacher, 8 years as a 1st grade Teacher and 3 years as a 4th grade Teacher.
I am married to my high school sweetheart Mr. Mark Caronna. We have 3 grown children and one son-in-law.
I have a passion for teaching and love being at Notre Dame.
