Bio

  • I was born in Houston, Texas. I lived in small air force military towns as a child. In third grade, the air force base closed and my family moved to Bellaire, Texas, a small town surrounded by Houston. I graduated from Bellaire Senior High in 1980. I attended college (1980-1982, 2001-2005) and graduated  with a Bachelors of Science in Education (2005) from Sam Houston State University. After earning a degree in Education and a minor in Special Education, I then went on to earn her Masters in Reading and Literacy (2007) from Walden University. I currently hold certificates for Generalist ECE-4th grade , Reading and Language Arts 4th-8th, Ece-12th Special Education, ECE-4th ESL,  ECE-12th English as a Second Language Supplemental.   
  • This is my 14th year in education. I have taught 1 year as a Resource Teacher K-5th, 3 years as a Behavior Intervention Teacher 3rd-5th, 1 year as a Kindergarten Teacher, 3 years as a 5th grade Teacher, 3 years as a 1st grade Teacher and 3 years as a 4th grade Teacher. 
  • I am married to my high school sweetheart. We have 4 children and two sons-in-law. We have one grandchild.
